Corrugated Hook Used on Grid

A plastic Corrugated Hook is pressed into service on the 1″ grid of a powerwing endcap display. The large two-stage flat backplate normally spreads the load to prevent tear–through in a corrugated display or prepack. But in this case fit the grid perfectly. Is the hook’s use on grid a new application, or a misapplication if its grip were to fail? To me the hooks seemed sturdy and stable. Please post an approving comment if you are familiar with Corrugated Hooks designed for dual use on 1″ grid.
