Remote Control for the Disabled

Remote Control for the Disabled Main

Remote Control for the Disabled AuxThis remote drink selector positioned at table-top, wheelchair height allows easier selection by that segment of the disabled population. Is there an advantage to the non-limited by offering the top-of-dispenser controls? (See thumbnail) Possibly. But why not come up with standard designs that serve both populations equally well … like the now near-universal curb-cut-ramps at street corners and crosswalks? All of us are equally well served, with no increase in societal cost, and the benefit of access and mobility for the limited. Most of that is a theoretical discussion. Worthy of note here is that someone cared enough to go the extra mile and offer handicap-targeted controls to these VIP’s. Bravo.
