So ingrained is the image of Metro-style shelving as restaurant furnishings, that a great number of Cookware Departments use it for store display. Here a warehouse club uses half a Metro-style Shelf, wire shelf overlay and overhead Hang Rod configuration to set the stage and display cookware on pallet rack. How would we subconsciously communicate food preparation as a talent and kitchen profession without Metro and its imitators as a prop? CLICK the thumbnail for an overall view.
Note the shelf overlay on the bottom tier, and the inverted shelf-edge design across the top tier shelf. Metro® brand Open Wire Shelf has a different trademarked “Snake Design.” Possibly this usurper was required to avoid the original design and implement its own concept.
